Leathermouth | Vord Vomit | My chemical romance

No point in hiding from our problems—that doesn’t solve a damn thing. Apparently Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance) feels the same way and when in need of some sort of outlet for his anger and frustration regarding the current state of the world, he formed LeATHERMØUTH along with fellow musician Rob Hughes. Check them out at an in-store performance at Vintage Vinyl on Jan. 27.

LeATHERMØUTH started out as an anonymous creation—one that would never see the light of day—mainly because Iero was embarrassed of the feelings he was letting come to the surface. With a much different sound than his claim-to-fame, MCR, this side project allows Iero to spew out the disgruntled thoughts and opinions that are building up inside of him about the ridiculous shit we all have to live with on a day-to-day basis, the end result being in-your-face, aggressive punk-orientated songs that leave Frank being able to breathe a sigh of relief. After completing , their debut 10-song full-length, Iero shopped it to one label only and in October of 2008 LeATHERMØUTH was signed with Epitaph Records. The album hits store the same day as their show at the Vintage Vinyl store.

My Chemical Romance New Album in Late 2009

On the heels of releasing their cover of Bob Dylans "Desolation Row" and their amazing video for the song, My Chemical Romance let fans know that they are heading back into the studio this week to begin working on their new album. But unlike with The Black Parade, which took years of work to piece together, this new album should be here sooner.

In an interview with BBC News, Gerard Way says "Im hoping for something to happen in a very fast way, that feels very natural and that doesnt have a lot of noodling all over it...Thats the goal, to get in there and have this rapid and visceral recording experience." And Gerard does mean FAST: currently the new album is slated for a late 2009 release.

Gerard warns once again that the new album will NOT be The Return of the Black Parade. "Black Parade was three years ago. You change a lot in three years. If I try to write more music like that Id be doing people a disservice. There may be some people thats just what they want but I dont think our fans do." He sums it up pretty well with "We have to make a record that reflects how weve matured."

As for touring? It sounds like My Chem wants to get back on the road. And expediently. "To tour on it almost right away on it would be fun and not kind of drag it out like last time."

What do you think of the news?

My Chemical Romance does Dylan

The track is taken from the soundtrack to the upcoming big screen adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' cult comic book series The Watchmen and will be released as a digital download and as a limited edition 12" vinyl on Monday (February 9) through Warner Bros. The 12" will be limited to just 3,000 copies and will be backed with an extract from the film's score.

With Watchmen nearing release, we thought we'd bring you news of the new video for My Chemical Romance's single from the film, a cover of Bob Dylan's Desolation Row,

The song from the emo rockers appears on the film's soundtrack, and is out as a single on Monday. While references to the movie in this video are not exactly overt - this is no Everything I Do (I Do It For You) with half the film on show. That said, there's a Rorschach pattern behind the band on stage, and the police outside are dressed in the old-fashioned uniforms of the film.

Expect to hear this over the end credits when Watchmen comes out on March 6, and on a radio near you between now and then.
